Chief Financial Officer

A well-established family-run business is seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team.
This is a rare opportunity for a commercially astute finance leader who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and can balance strategic thinking with operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving growth improving profitability strengthening governance and supporting the long-term vision of the business.
We are seeking a hands-on leader with deep industry experience in restaurants quick-service restaurants (QSR) FMCG retail hospitality or franchise operations.

Job Description:
Strategic Leadership

• Partner with shareholders and executives to develop and execute business strategy
• Drive long-term financial planning and growth initiatives
• Provide commercial insights to support key business decisions
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability efficiency and cash generation
• Participate in acquisitions expansion projects and strategic investments

Financial Management

• Lead all aspects of financial reporting budgeting forecasting and cash flow management
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information across the business
• Develop and monitor key financial and operational performance metrics
• Oversee working capital treasury and banking relationships
• Drive cost optimisation and margin improvement initiatives

Governance Risk & Compliance

• Ensure strong financial controls policies and governance frameworks
• Oversee tax statutory and regulatory compliance
• Manage external audits and professional advisors
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks

Operational Finance Leadership

• Partner with operational teams to improve business performance
• Support decision-making across multiple business units and locations
• Deliver meaningful financial insights to non-financial stakeholders
• Evaluate new business opportunities and investment cases
• Lead the finance function through growth and change

Leadership & Team Development

• Build lead and mentor a high-performing finance team
• Foster a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement
• Act as a trusted advisor to executive management and shareholders

Skills & Experience:
CA(SA) qualification
Minimum 10 years post-articles experience
Proven senior financial leadership experience
Experience within one or more of the following industries:

• Restaurants
• Quick Service Restaurants (QSR)
• FMCG
• Retail
• Hospitality
• Franchise businesses
