Quality Control Inspector (Auto Body Repair)

Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and uncompromising Quality Control (QC) Inspector to serve as the final gatekeeper for a premium auto body repair centre in East this critical role you will hold the final sign-off authority on all repaired vehicles before they are released to customers.

Please Note: This role requires specific knowledge of collision repair panel beating and automotive refinishing. Candidates whose experience is exclusively in non automotive manufacturing or production line QC will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Final Sign-Off: Conduct comprehensive bumper-to-bumper inspections on all completed vehicles to ensure all authorised repairs have been executed to exact manufacturer and workshop standards.
  

• Quality Audits: Inspect structural repairs panel gaps alignment and assembly integrity.
  

• Paint & Finish Inspection: Scrutinize all spray painting and refinishing work for color matching blending overspray dust nibs run marks and final polish quality.
  

• Job Card Verification: Cross-reference the completed physical vehicle against the original job card and final invoice to ensure no authorized parts or repairs were missed.
  

• Rework Management: Authoritatively reject sub-standard work clearly documenting the defects and routing the vehicle back to the relevant department (stripping panel beating prep or paint) for correction.
  

• Road Testing: Conduct post-repair test drives to check for rattles wind noise tracking alignment and proper functionality of mechanical and electronic components (sensors lights cameras).
  

• Documentation: Maintain accurate QC logs photographic evidence of the final repair and signed release forms for compliance and warranty purposes.
  

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of direct hands-on experience as a Quality Controller within the collision repair / panel beating industry.
  

• Industry Knowledge: Deep technical understanding of automotive body repair processes structural tolerances automotive spray painting and modern vehicle assembly.
  

• Valid Drivers License: Unendorsed Code B (Code 08) or higher is strictly required for moving and road-testing customer vehicles.
  

• Education: Relevant qualification in the Autobody sector is highly advantageous.
  

• Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret computerized diagnostic printouts job cards and automated estimating systems (e.g. Audatex TMS).

Required Education:

Minimum 3 years Quality Control experience in a collision repair/panel beating environment. Strong knowledge of automotive body repairs refinishing and vehicle assembly. Valid Code B (Code 08) drivers licence. Autobody qualification advantageous. Experience with Audatex TMS or similar estimating systems is beneficial. Exceptional attention to detail strong communication skills and the confidence to uphold quality standards and reject substandard work when necessary.
