Introduction

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join us for a 7 month contract, assisting with ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, preparing statutory financial statements. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and experience working with Sage/SAP. The role is based in Brakpan.

Key Responsibilities

• Statutory Reporting:
  • Prepare and ensure timely and accurate statutory financial statements in accordance with local GAAP, IFRS, reporting standards.
  • Oversee the preparation of tax filings, including VAT, income tax, and other regulatory compliance reports.
  • Ensure the company’s financial reporting adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with auditors during the audit process and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
• Sage/SAP Expertise:
  • Leverage Sage financial modules to manage and maintain accurate financial data.
  • Work with SAP to automate and streamline accounting processes and reporting procedures.
  • Ensure integration between SAP and BI reporting tools.
  • Resolve Sage-related accounting issues and perform troubleshooting when necessary.
• Month-End and Year-End Close:
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Prepare and present balance sheet reconciliations and P&L reports to FM for review.
  • Sign off Creditor recons and release bank payments for local and foreign creditors.
  • Assist HR with processing of payroll journal monthly.
  • Supervise and review the transport, Fleet cards and Vodacom transactions monthly.
  • Coordinate and supervise the Accounts receivable process to ensure all receipts, rebates, discounts and credit notes are processed and allocated before month end close.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Logistics, Procurement, WH, Production and Quality) to resolve any discrepancies and ensure accurate financial data is reported.
• Submit monthly Flash on the 2nd working day of the new month.
• Internal Controls and Process Improvement:
  • Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial accounting processes and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Ezee Tile Adhesive Manufacturing’s financial policies and procedures.
• Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Accounting Sciences or a Bachelor of Accounting Science (BAccSc).
• Experience with ERP systems.
• A minimum of 4 years solid experience as an Accountant.
• Driver’s license and own vehicle – you will be required to travel to Silica Quarts weekly.
