Raw Material Buyer

POSITION INFO:

An exciting opportunity exists within the Commercial department for a Raw Material Buyer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the sourcing and purchasing of E-Waste and related materials. This position is ideally suited to someone with great people skills, an affinity for sales and buying, as well as strong administrative skills.

Key duties:

· Sourcing of raw materials for further processing.

· Identify and engage with potential suppliers.

· Maintain awareness of new opportunities.

· Determine the estimated value of the raw materials.

· When required, obtain a mandate from the Commercial Managers to purchase the applicable materials.

· Maintain positive relationships with suppliers.

· Build an understanding of the underlying business model to make purposeful buying decisions.

Minimum requirements and Competencies:

· Matric

· Sales & Buying experience will be advantageous

· Further qualifications are not required, but will be beneficial

· Computer literate (Microsoft 365).

· Excellent planning and organising skills.

· Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.

· Able to travel out of town, as required.

· Ability to communicate in English and Afrikaans.

· Excellent attention to detail and strong administrative skills.

Basic calculation skills, with the aim of making purchasing /costing decisions.
