Management Accountant

Our client, a well-established importer and distributor operating across wholesale and e-commerce channels, is looking for a hands-on Management Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional who enjoys a broad commercial role and wants to develop their career within a fast-paced business. Working closely with the Senior Finance Clerk and outsourced Finance Manager, you'll gain exposure to all aspects of the finance function while contributing to the continued growth of the business.

What you will be doing:

• Processing journals, supplier invoices and bank transactions
• Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations, including foreign currency accounts
• Assisting with month-end management accounts and reporting
• Preparing and maintaining weekly cash flow forecasts
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Monitoring inventory reconciliations between accounting and warehouse systems
• Assisting with VAT, PAYE, provisional tax and statutory compliance
• Preparing annual CIPC returns and maintaining financial records
• Supporting continuous improvement of finance processes and controls

What we are looking for:

• BCom Accounting, Financial Management or similar qualification
• 2-4 years' accounting experience in a commercial environment
• Experience using Xero or a similar accounting system
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Strong reconciliation skills and sound accounting knowledge
• Exposure to FMCG, wholesale, retail or distribution environments would be advantageous
