Financial Manager

Job Description

Our client a well-established multi-franchise automotive dealership group is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to join their finance team in Edenvale.

Reporting to the Group CFO the successful candidate will take ownership of the dealerships full financial function ensuring sound financial management statutory compliance accurate reporting and effective financial controls to support business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full financial function of the dealership.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Manage budgeting forecasting and cash flow.
• Ensure accurate general ledger cashbook and bank reconciliations.
• Manage debtors creditors fixed assets and month-end processes.
• Reconcile vehicle stock deal costing and OEM accounts.
• Implement and maintain effective internal financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards tax legislation and company policies.
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations to management.
• Prepare regular financial reports for the Group CFO and dealership leadership.
• Oversee procurement and supplier payment processes.
• Lead mentor and develop the finance team.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with OEMs suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Financial Manager within the motor dealership industry.
• Previous motor dealership finance experience is essential.
• Experience using Evolve is required.
• Strong understanding of dealership accounting systems financial reporting and internal controls.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines.
• Valid South African drivers licence.
• Clear criminal credit and qualification verification record.
• Candidates residing on the East Rand or within a reasonable commuting distance will be advantageous.
