We are recruiting an Industrial Engineer to support the production of advanced defence systems and military vehicles. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly regulated technology-driven environment where your expertise will directly contribute to the manufacture of mission-critical products.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse and optimise manufacturing and assembly processes
• Conduct workflow studies line balancing capacity planning and facility layout improvements
• Drive Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) work instructions and manufacturing standards
• Perform time studies and establish labour standards
• Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) routing structures and manufacturing data
• Improve production scheduling material flow and inventory management
• Support industrialisation of new products from prototype through production
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement sustainable corrective actions
• Monitor manufacturing KPIs including productivity OEE quality cost and delivery performance
• Collaborate with Engineering Production Quality Supply Chain Procurement and Finance teams
• Support process validation risk assessments PFMEA and continuous process optimisation
• Lead cost reduction and productivity improvement projects
• Assist with factory layout planning and manufacturing capacity expansion
• Ensure compliance with quality safety and defence industry standards

Minimum Requirements:

• BEng BTech or BSc in Industrial Engineering
• 38 years Industrial Engineering experience within manufacturing
• Experience in defence aerospace automotive heavy engineering or advanced manufacturing environments will be highly advantageous
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma 5S Value Stream Mapping and Continuous Improvement methodologies
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and BOM management
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with Power BI Python SQL or data analytics tools is advantageous
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 AS9100 or defence quality systems is beneficial
• South African citizenship may be required due to security clearance requirements for defence projects.
