Our client a respected manufacturing operation based in Durban is seeking an experienced Tool Jig & Die Maker to join their toolroom team and play a critical role in supporting metal press production operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

What Youll Be Doing

• Designing and manufacturing precision press tools dies punches jigs and fixtures
• Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Working with CAD software such as Mastercam and/or SolidWorks
• Operating CNC machines wire EDM spark erosion equipment conventional lathes and milling machines
• Modifying repairing and maintaining production tooling to maximise uptime and efficiency
• Troubleshooting tooling-related production challenges
• Selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing methods
• Collaborating closely with engineering and production teams
• Maintaining toolroom standards documentation and safety practices

What Were Looking For

• Trade Certificate in Toolmaking
• Proven experience in press toolmaking and tool maintenance
• Strong CAD proficiency ideally with Mastercam and/or SolidWorks
• Demonstrated experience with CNC machining wire EDM spark erosion and conventional machining
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical ability
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
