ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

On behalf of our client—a prestigious global mobility and automotive leader—we are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Accounting. Based at their operating facility in Kariega, this role holds overall responsibility for all financial accounting functions, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely financial data and statutory reporting in alignment with international guidelines and IFRS.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Financial Reporting & Governance: Full oversight of financial accounting and reporting, including group consolidation and transmission of corporate financial data to the parent company.
• Annual Financial Statements: Oversee the preparation of Company and Group consolidated Annual Financial Statements.
• Inventory & Costing: Hold overall accountability for inventory accounting and control, as well as product and component costing.
• Automotive Incentives & Compliance: Direct management of accounting and claims processes under the Automotive Production and Development Programme (APDP), Production Incentive (PI) benefits, EUR1 calculations, and Automotive Investment Scheme (AIS) claims.
• Accounts Payable & Controls: Strategic oversight of Accounts Payable management and integrity of management accounting data.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Key point of contact for Group Accounting, External Auditors, Benefit Fund Administrators, and relevant Government stakeholders.
• Strategic Leadership: Provide robust financial leadership, act as a trusted business advisor, and contribute to system, policy, and procedure enhancements.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
• Chartered Accountant CA(SA) OR a BCom Accounting Honours Degree with completed articles.
Work Experience:
• Completed articles with strong, hands-on financial reporting experience.
• A minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in a complex financial accounting environment.
• Prior experience operating within complex regulatory, audit, and automotive/manufacturing reporting environments is highly preferred.
