Duties & Responsibilities

ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

Salary:R22 000 R25 000 per month
Location:Cape Town

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliableAssistant Accountantto join a dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records producing management reports reconciling accounts and ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Accounting or Finance qualification
• Minimum 3 years experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger reconciliations
• Experience with VAT and WHT reconciliations
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems

Key Responsibilities

• Process journals and financial transactions
• Perform General Ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare monthly management reports
• Reconcile revenue and expense accounts
• Process VAT and WHT reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies
• Maintain supporting documentation and financial records
• Liaise with branches operational managers and auditors
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies
• Meet all month-end and reporting deadlines
