Selling Sales Manager

Job Description

Our client a well-established automotive dealership is seeking an experienced Selling Sales Manager to lead its New Vehicle Sales division. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring an individual who can drive personal sales performance while developing mentoring and leading a high-performing sales team.

Reporting into dealership leadership the successful incumbent will be responsible for achieving vehicle sales and revenue targets strengthening customer relationships ensuring an exceptional customer experience and maintaining compliance with OEM standards and dealership policies. The role offers the opportunity to influence dealership growth through strong commercial leadership operational excellence and a customer-first approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead coach and motivate the New Vehicle Sales team to achieve and exceed sales and profitability targets.
• Lead from the front through active participation in vehicle sales and business development activities.
• Develop and execute sales initiatives aligned to dealership and OEM objectives.
• Build and maintain long-term customer relationships that drive repeat business and referrals.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales journey while maintaining strong Customer Service Index (CSI) performance.
• Manage customer leads opportunities and reporting through the dealership CRM platform.
• Analyse market trends competitor activity and customer buying behaviour to identify commercial opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with the F&I Aftersales and Dealer Principal to maximise dealership performance.
• Mentor and develop the sales team through ongoing coaching performance management and leadership.
• Foster a high-performance culture aligned to the dealerships business objectives.
• Assist with dealership budgeting forecasting and financial performance management.
• Monitor sales performance against agreed targets and implement corrective actions where required.
• Ensure compliance with OEM standards dealership policies and all applicable legislation including FICA FAIS POPIA and the Consumer Protection Act.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers OEM representatives finance houses and other key stakeholders.

Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Relevant National Diploma or Degree in Business Management or a related field will be advantageous.
• 510 years experience within the motor dealership industry.
• Proven experience leading New Vehicle Sales teams within a dealership environment.
• Strong understanding of dealership operations including New Vehicle Sales Used Vehicle Sales Aftersales and F&I.
• Working knowledge of OEM standards and dealership operations.
• Experience using Dealer Management Systems such as Evolve IAL CMS or similar.
• Sound understanding of the legislative framework governing the motor industry including FICA FAIS and the Consumer Protection Act.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
• Excellent leadership coaching negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and dealership systems.
• Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel when required.
• Clear criminal and verification record.
• Candidates residing on or near the East Rand will be advantageous.
