Production Administrator

Location: Chamdor, Gauteng Salary: R10,000 per month

About the Role

A well‑established engineering and manufacturing company is seeking a highly organised and detail‑oriented Production Administrator to join its production team based in Chamdor. This role is ideal for an administrative professional who can effectively support production, purchasing, logistics, inventory, and health & safety functions within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly and monthly production reports
  • Process weekly wages and timesheets
  • Maintain accurate filing and administrative records
  • Raise purchase orders and manage purchasing administration
  • Process job receipting, job issuing, and job postings
  • Capture stock receipts and inventory transactions
  • Coordinate general logistics activities
  • Prepare and maintain Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) valuations
  • Compile production status reports
  • Follow up with suppliers on outstanding orders
  • Schedule service bookings and coordinate maintenance activities
  • Maintain machine maintenance records and logbooks
  • Support Health & Safety administration, including:
    • First Aid records
    • Toolbox talks
    • Inspection checklists
    • General HSE documentation

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

Advantageous

  • Experience using Syspro ERP
  • Import and logistics administration knowledge
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, production, or mining environment

Selection Process

  • Shortlisted candidates will attend a panel interview.
  • A Ravens Assessment will form part of the selection process.
  • Preference will be given to Employment Equity (EE) candidates.
