Executive Housekeeper

A luxury safari lodge set within a UNESCO-declared biosphere in Limpopo's Waterberg region is seeking an experienced EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER to lead their housekeeping department.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who holds a five-star property to the highest standard, from guest rooms to back-of-house, while managing and developing a team.

Core Criteria:

• Minimum 5 years experience in luxury lodge, hotel, or premium hospitality operations
• Previous experience in a senior housekeeping or supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping standards, hygiene, quality control, and guest service
• Grade 12 (Matric) required; a hospitality qualification is advantageous
• Computer literate, with Microsoft Office experience
• Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays

Candidate Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop the housekeeping team to deliver service excellence
• Manage daily operations, staff allocation, performance, and departmental standards
• Ensure guest rooms, public areas, and facilities meet luxury presentation standards
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and attention to detail
• Respond to guest requests and feedback professionally
• Oversee guest rooms, laundry, public areas, and back-of-house functions
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and lodge service standards
• Coordinate with other departments to keep the guest experience seamless
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and safe working practices
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policy
• Monitor equipment and report maintenance concerns
• Manage linen, amenities, cleaning supplies, and departmental resources
• Control costs, minimise wastage, and keep accurate operational records
• Train and mentor staff to uphold luxury housekeeping standards
