General Welder

Qualification - Grade 12 - Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English. - Trade Test in Welding (advantageous but not essential) Requirements - Minimum 3 years' proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or engineering environment. - Valid drivers license - Experience working from engineering drawings. - Experience with fabrication and assembly of metal components. - Must be proficient in "Stick" (SMAW) and "TIG" (GTAW) processes. - Must be proficient to weld at least in a 3G position (6G bonus) - Must be proficient in the following welding material: - Stainless steel (304L / 316L) - Carbon Steel / Mild steel (516GR70 / 430A / etc.) - Aluminium (1050 / 1050H14 - Attention to detail and be safety conscious - Quality conscious - Good hand-eye coordination, with the ability to work independently and under pressure - Problem-solving ability, with good communication skills, also ensuring that production issues are communicated promptly - Efficient Time management - Be reliable and dependable - Team player - Work effectively with supervisors and colleagues - Safely manufacture, fabricate, repair and assemble metal components by performing high-quality welding using approved welding procedures and company quality standards. - Responsible for ensuring that fabricated products meet dimensional, quality and safety requirements while maintaining productivity targets - Stand for extended periods. - Lift materials within safe manual handling limits. - Work in confined spaces where required. - Work in hot environments. - Perform repetitive manual tasks. - Use power tools safely. - Wear PPE for extended periods.
