Job description

Our client, a well-established automotive dealership in Rustenburg, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the dealership's day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting the Financial Manager in delivering an efficient finance function.

Description:

  • Perform full bookkeeping functions up to Trial Balance.
  • Process and reconcile cashbooks, bank accounts, and general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and process journals.
  • Reconcile debtor and creditor control accounts.
  • Process supplier invoices and payments.
  • Perform customer account reconciliations.
  • Reconcile vehicle stock, floorplan, and manufacturer accounts.
  • Maintain asset registers and process depreciation journals.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures.
  • Prepare VAT reconciliations and assist with VAT submissions.
  • Process accruals and prepayments.
  • Assist with management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related qualification will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role within an automotive dealership.
  • Solid understanding of dealership accounting processes.
  • Experience working on Autoline (Keyloop) DMS is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience with VAT, reconciliations, and month-end procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Valid driver's licence.
