Operational Financial Manager

Are you a technically strong finance professional who thrives in managing the day-to-day operations of a finance department

This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys leading financial operations ensuring compliance and delivering accurate financial reporting. The successful candidate will act as the operational head of finance and serve as a trusted right-hand to senior leadership.

This is a purely operational finance role with no strategic commercial responsibilities allowing you to focus on building and maintaining a high-performing finance department.

This role is based in Midrand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance department.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end financial close process.
• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts.
• Ensure compliance with all tax legislation and statutory requirements.
• Manage the external audit process and liaise with auditors.
• Oversee debtors creditors and cash management functions.
• Ensure the integrity of financial records controls and reporting.
• Lead and mentor the finance team to ensure high performance and accountability.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls.
• Support the business by maintaining a stable efficient and compliant finance function.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Degree in Accounting.
• Strong financial accounting fundamentals.
• Proven experience in an operational Financial Manager or Senior Accountant role.
• Extensive experience preparing management accounts.
• Strong knowledge of tax compliance statutory reporting and external audits.
• Solid understanding of debtors creditors reconciliations and financial controls.
• Previous experience managing or supervising a finance team.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the finance function.
