Mid Weight Graphic Designer x2

Purpose:

The Mid-Weight Graphic Designer is accountable for the quality and accuracy of their own design output against a brief and the established Carrol Boyes brand standard. This role delivers craft execution across marketing and communication projects, working within direction set by the Senior Graphic Designer.

Reports to: Senior Graphic Designer and Creative Lead

Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Design Execution

• Execute design and creative work for marketing & communication campaigns across digital, print, OOH and in-house platforms

• Conceptualise design work in response to briefs, applying sound design principles and brand strategy

• Deliver polished, innovative, on-brand design work to a consistently high standard

• Input and refine design elements for briefs covering internal, digital, ATL and BTL campaigns

• Apply commercial and target-market thinking to own design work, concepts should be effective for the audience and cost-effective to produce

Brand & Quality

• Ensure all own design work adheres to the Carrol Boyes brand identity and CI guidelines

• Apply CI updates to own work as communicated by the Senior Designer / Head of Marketing

• Check own artwork for accuracy: copy, layout, and production readiness

• Support proof, production and press checks as required

Delivery & Collaboration

• Deliver own projects on time, on budget, and to the quality standard required

• Liaise with the marketing team to clarify brief requirements and provide status updates

• Manage own workload and prioritisation within allocated projects and timelines

• Flag potential project or design issues to the Head of Marketing (via the Senior Designer/Creative Lead) early

• Build effective working relationships with immediate stakeholders

Key Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential); 3-year Graphic Design Degree/Diploma (Essential)

• 2–4 years' design experience (Essential)

• Experience in packaging design (Essential)

• Experience executing marketing projects from concept to production (Essential)

• Interactive media experience (Essential)

• Design for print, digital and OOH (Essential)

• Agency experience (Desirable)

• Photography (Desirable)

• Animation (Desirable)

• Proficiency in the Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

• Working knowledge of marketing communication media processes

• Understanding of Carrol Boyes products and brand identity

• Sound knowledge of creative and graphic design principles
