Forensic Investigator

Our client is seeking a detail-driven and highly ethical Forensic Investigator to support the business in identifying, investigating and preventing fraud, bribery, corruption, theft and other financial crimes.This role is suited to someone who is naturally inquisitive, analytical and confident working with sensitive information. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting professional investigations, gathering and analysing evidence, preparing reports, and supporting disciplinary or legal processes where required.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and execute end-to-end forensic investigations.Investigate suspected fraud, bribery, corruption, theft and financial crime.Gather, preserve and analyse evidence in line with legal and regulatory requirements.Conduct interviews and prepare detailed interview notes.Draft affidavits and assist with criminal case preparation.Analyse large volumes of data to identify trends, irregularities and risks.Compile detailed forensic investigation reports.Present evidence at disciplinary hearings and in court where required.Work closely with internal and external stakeholders during investigations.Maintain strict confidentiality and professional judgement at all times.RequirementsGrade 12 / Matric.2–4 years’ forensic investigation experience.Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the financial services sector.Experience investigating syndicates will be advantageous.Certified Fraud Examiner qualification will be advantageous.Qualification in Forensics, Law, Accounting or IT will be advantageous.Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.Strong report writing, interviewing and evidence-gathering skills.Good data analysis and case management ability.Ability to perform under pressure.High level of integrity, ethics and confidentiality.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong workplace setup with uninterrupted connectivity for remote collaboration.Willingness to travel when required.Key CompetenciesIntegrity and ethicsAnalytical thinkingAttention to detailAccountabilityProblem solvingCommunicationDecision makingCollaborationProfessional judgementIdeal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will have a strong investigative mindset, sound judgement and the ability to handle complex, sensitive matters professionally.
