About Our Client: Our client operates within an engineering and hydraulics workshop environment handling high-pressure systems and heavy machinery. The organization performs preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and testing on a variety of hydraulic equipment.
The Role: Hydraulic Fitter. The purpose of the Hydraulic Fitter role is to inspect, assemble, maintain, repair, and test hydraulic systems and components, including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and fittings. Reporting to the Workshop Foreman or Engineering Manager, the primary focus is to ensure all hydraulic equipment operates safely and efficiently in accordance with technical drawings, schematics, and OEM specifications.
Key Responsibilities

Apply 3–5 years of hydraulic maintenance experience to perform strip, assessment, and repair of cylinders, pumps, valves, manifolds, accumulators, and motors.

Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings, and technical manuals to conduct fault finding and diagnostics.

Measure and inspect seals, rods, barrels, and machined components using micrometers, vernier calipers, and gauges.

Replace and fit seals, bearings, O-rings, wear rings, hydraulic piping, hoses, and fittings.

Conduct pressure testing, leakage testing, and system performance checks.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hydraulic systems in workshop or field environments.

Maintain accurate records of work performed, measurements taken, and parts used.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, ISO, OEM, and Mine Safety regulations while liaising with supervisors on fault trends.
About You

Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in hydraulic maintenance, assembly, or repairs.

Essential experience in hydraulic pump and cylinder repair.

Sound knowledge of hydraulic principles, pressure systems, and component function.

Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and mechanical drawings and schematics.

Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools such as verniers, micrometers, and dial gauges.

Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel if required.

Strong fault-finding skills, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, time management, communication, and reporting skills.

Safety-conscious, disciplined work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Advantageous: Experience in hydraulic systems for mobile cranes, earth moving equipment, or mining equipment.
