What You Will Get To Do:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join our team at SS&C Administrative Services SA (PTY) LTD. This role involves comprehensive oversight of fund accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance for a diverse portfolio of funds.

We are also looking for a candidate that is proactive in their approach to identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our fund accounting processes. As well as implement best practices and leverage technology to improve workflows to maximise efficiency.

Here are some of the Key Responsibilities:

• Process journal entries to the general ledger, including income distribution journals.
• Calculate and report total expense ratios (TER) and total cost ratios (TCR).
• Analytical review of all daily, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc work done by team.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts to the investment ledger to ensure accuracy.
• Identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare trial balances, financial statements and investor reports as required.
• Ensure fund accounting processes comply with IFRS, GAAP, and local regulatory requirements.
• Assist with audits by preparing necessary schedules and responding to auditor queries.
• Monitor fund compliance with investment mandates and regulatory limits.
• Communicate with fund managers, trustees, custodians, and clients on fund accounting matters.
• Assist in onboarding new funds and implementing process improvements.

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Investment Management, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in fund accounting, investment administration, or financial services.
• Experience in hedge funds, unit trusts, private equity, or pension funds is beneficial.
• Familiarity with investment systems such as HiPortfolio is an advantage.
• Knowledge of asset management environment, including but not limited to financial markets and instruments.
• Prior experience of implementing a practical use of AI to existing and future processes to enhance efficiency would be desirable.
• Highly skilled in the use of MS Office suite
