Junior Product Developer – FMCG Cape Town

Position Purpose

Develop plans and execute projects and initiatives for the assigned product portfolio, which support both the short and long-term marketing strategy, with the support of the line manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyse brand profitability and brand performance within the market.
• Assist with the annual marketing plan development.
• Take ownership of your brand and projects and ensure new product launches and all campaign elements are on time.
• Input ideas for new product development and manage product development process.
• Manage Brand portfolio.
• Plan, execute and review consumer promotions.
• Do regular store checks in all retailers to check on initiatives and brand exposure.
• Work with advertising and PR agencies to implement PR and advertising strategy.
• Organize brand events and sampling according to brand plan.
• Align with International Marketing and translate international guidelines into a local strategy for your sub brand(s).
• Monitor brand budget.
• Assist line manager with projects.

• Strong attention to detail to guarantee high-quality level of execution for all brand related activities (NPD, packaging, BTL and ATL projects, etc.)
• Ability to communicate with team members and management on a daily basis

Qualifications/experience

• Completed, relevant Bachelors degree
• A minimum of one years'' relevant experience in similar environment, ideally with international exposure and product development experience
• Preferably experience with premium FMCG brands

Excellent MS skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
