Our client is seeking a hands‑on, customer‑focused Branch Supervisor / Sales Representative to oversee daily branch operations while driving sales growth across Richards Bay and surrounding industrial areas. This hybrid role combines branch management, customer service, stock control, sales, and business development. The successful candidate will support contractors and industrial clients in sectors such as construction, welding, fabrication, shipbuilding, refineries, and power generation.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Operations — Manage daily branch operations and ensure efficient customer service
New Business Development — Identify and develop new business opportunities
Client Relationship Management — Maintain strong relationships with existing industrial and contractor customers
Product Sales — Promote and sell welding supplies, industrial consumables, abrasives, safety gear, and rental solutions
Stock Management — Manage stock levels, orders, deliveries, and branch administration
Quotations & Follow‑Ups — Prepare quotations, follow up on enquiries, and achieve sales targets
Customer Visits — Conduct customer visits and identify opportunities to grow the Richards Bay market
Supplier & Internal Coordination — Coordinate with suppliers, service teams, and the regional office for reliable customer support
Safety & Housekeeping — Ensure the branch maintains high standards of safety, housekeeping, and operational efficiency
Ideal Candidate Profile
Industrial Sales Experience — Experience in industrial sales, welding supplies, abrasives, equipment rental, construction, or related fields
Customer Focus — Strong customer service and relationship‑building ability
Organisational Skills — Strong organisational and administrative skills
Communication — Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Driver’s Licence — Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
Local Market Knowledge — Knowledge of the Richards Bay industrial market (advantageous)
Hands‑On Approach — Practical, proactive, and able to work independently
