Payroll Specialist

Our Client is an established South African wealth and accounting firm dedicated to providing financial solutions to individuals and businesses. Their well-established Durban North head office seeks an experienced PAYROLL SPECIALIST

Duties:

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multiple small business clients.

• Ensure full compliance with tax regulations, including PAYE, UIF, SDL, and EMP201/EMP501 submissions.

• Implement and configure payroll systems such as SimplePay, Pastel, and Sage for new companies.

• Maintain data integrity and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently.

• Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports.

• Oversee leave management, employee benefit deductions, and statutory updates.

• Liaise with SARS, the Department of Labour, and other statutory bodies.

• Support clients with payroll-related queries and provide expert technical guidance.

Requirements:

• 8-10 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist.

• Strong working knowledge of Sage Payroll, Pastel Payroll, and SimplePay.

• Experience within an accounting or auditing practice environment.

• Proven expertise in tax compliance and payroll management.

• Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to support clients effectively and communicate complex information clearly.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with statutory compliance updates and payroll legislation.
