Risk Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement enterprise-wide risk management strategies and policies.

• Identify, evaluate, and monitor operational risks affecting logistics operations.

• Conduct regular risk assessments across warehouses, transport operations, and distribution facilities.

• Maintain and update the company risk register.

• Develop mitigation plans to reduce identified risks.

• Monitor compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.

• Ensure adherence to transport, logistics, occupational health and safety, and environmental regulations.

• Conduct compliance audits and inspections.

• Investigate policy violations and operational breaches.

• Recommend corrective and preventative actions.

• Develop and implement strategies to prevent theft, fraud, cargo losses, hijackings, and pilferage.

• Monitor security controls for warehouses, depots, and transport operations.

• Coordinate investigations into security incidents and losses.

• Liaise with law enforcement agencies, insurance providers, and security service providers.

• Analyze trends and recommend security improvements.

• Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation.

• Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments.

• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.

• Monitor implementation of corrective actions.

• Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

• Coordinate emergency preparedness and response procedures.

• Lead risk mitigation initiatives during operational disruptions.

• Conduct crisis management training and simulation exercises.

• Ensure operational resilience across all facilities and transport routes.

• Manage insurance-related matters, including claims administration.

• Investigate incidents leading to insurance claims.

• Liaise with insurers, brokers, assessors, and legal representatives.

• Monitor claims trends and recommend preventative measures.

• Conduct internal risk and compliance audits.

• Prepare comprehensive risk reports for management.

• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

• Track risk mitigation actions and compliance performance.

• Develop key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance dashboards.

• Collaborate with management, operational teams, customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.

• Provide guidance and support on risk-related matters.

• Deliver risk management and compliance training to employees.

• Promote risk awareness throughout the organization.
