Assistant Technician

A Vacancy exists for an Assistant Technician in the Mining Division based in Harmony South – Welkom

The suitable candidate’s main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist Technician with day-to-day duties;
• Installation and fault finding of new alarms, electric fences and CCTV;
• Repairing of cables, focusing, cleaning and re - adjusting of cameras;
• Attending meetings when required to;
• Assist with good housekeeping practices;
• Attention to detail on all aspects of relevant responsibilities;
• Adhering to the Agreement between the client and the company;
• Adhering to Health and Safety Regulations;
• Management and Control of Documentation, Including Registers, Overtime and Route Sheets;
• Available to be on standby if and when required and to work long hours if required;
• Ensure adherence to Company policy & procedures;

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification;
• Driver’s license Code 8 advantageous
• Relevant experience in similar position and technical background advantageous;
• Bilingual (English and any other South African language);
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Must reside in Welkom or surrounding area;
• Own transport;
• No criminal record;
• Willing to work long hours / overtime and willing to travel extensively;
