Key Responsibilities

• Provide visible, professional, and values-driven leadership across the Pretoria West operation.

• Establish and communicate clear strategic and operational objectives aligned to business goals.

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary leadership team.

• Foster a culture of accountability, high performance, engagement, innovation, and continuous improvement.

• Promote and embed the Twinsaver Group Values throughout the operation.

• Ensure effective succession planning and talent management practices are implemented.

• Drive operational excellence through strong leadership, governance, and decision-making.

• Lead the end-to-end operation of the Pretoria West Tissue Manufacturing value chain.

• Ensure production schedules are achieved through disciplined execution and operational control.

• Drive schedule adherence and ensure corrective actions are implemented when deviations occur.

• Promote a quality-focused culture where products consistently meet customer and internal specifications.

• Monitor operational performance and implement improvement plans where required.

• Lead the Rapid Response Team process to address operational deviations and production constraints.

• Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

• Ensure compliance with OMS requirements and reporting standards and routines.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve operational reliability, productivity, and efficiency.

• Manage operational expenditure within approved budgets.

• Monitor and control manufacturing costs.

• Review operational variances and implement corrective actions.

• Control Material Usage Variance (MUV) and waste levels.

• Lead cost reduction and value improvement initiatives.

• Identify savings opportunities and deliver sustainable improvements.

• Participate in the development of annual operational and maintenance budgets.

• Ensure effective resource allocation and utilization.

• Develop and maintain a departmental succession plan.

• Ensure critical roles have identified and developed successors.

• Identify capability gaps and implement development plans.

• Work closely with Engineering and Learning & Development teams to address skills shortages.

• Support graduate, trainee, and in-service development programmes.

• Build organizational capability to support long-term business sustainability.

• Support and continuously improve the Twinsaver Group Asset Management Strategy.

• Ensure operational and maintenance activities align with Asset Care Plans.

• Drive reliability-centered maintenance and operational excellence initiatives.

• Work closely with Engineering to improve equipment availability and reliability.

• Ensure equipment performance supports operational objectives.

• Identify and address asset-related risks and opportunities.

• Identify operational improvement and capital investment opportunities.

• Ensure capital requirements are identified and motivated.

• Support development of business cases and capital expenditure budgets.

• Work with Engineering and Project Managers to ensure successful project implementation.

• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and achieve intended business outcomes.

• Oversee operational readiness for commissioning and implementation activities.

• Lead and promote a culture where safety is the highest priority.

• Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, risk, and corporate governance requirements.

• Ensure Safe Work Procedures are maintained and adhered to.

• Ensure incident investigations are happening and corrective actions are implemented.

• Drive continuous SHEQ improvement initiatives.

• Ensure all required permits, regulatory obligations, and compliance requirements are maintained.

• Actively promote safe behaviours and visible leadership in the workplace.

• Lead the core KPIs: Safety Performance, Quality Performance, Schedule Adherence, Cost Management, Culture and Ethics, Savings and Value Improvement Initiatives, Production Efficiency.
