The Opportunity
Topcon Precision Agriculture Africa is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Managing Director to lead our operations in Africa and the Middle East from our Klerksdorp office. This leadership role is responsible for driving business growth strengthening customer and OEM relationships overseeing operational performance and ensuring the successful management of all local business functions.
The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with proven leadership skills to expand Topcons presence across the African and Middle East market while maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
Lead and execute Topcon Precision Agriculture Africas business strategy.
Identify and capitalise on market opportunities to drive revenue growth.
Develop and strengthen Topcons presence across the African and Middle East agricultural sector.
Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with customers dealers distributors and OEMs.
Customer & Account Management
Maintain and grow existing aftermarket customer accounts.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing OEM accounts.
Develop and secure new aftermarket business opportunities.
Develop and establish new OEM partnerships and accounts.
Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and long-term relationship management.
Operational Management
Provide overall leadership and management of the Klerksdorp operation.
Oversee all aspects of office management including:
o Personnel management and development
o Stock and inventory management
o Financial performance and budget control
o Administrative operations and compliance
Ensure efficient day-to-day business operations and adherence to company policies.
Financial & Commercial Performance
Manage budgets forecasts and financial reporting requirements.
Drive profitability and sustainable business growth.
Monitor key performance indicators and implement improvement initiatives.
Support regional and global leadership teams with strategic reporting and business insights.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Business Agriculture Engineering Commerce or a related discipline.
Significant leadership experience in agriculture agribusiness precision agriculture agricultural equipment or related industries.
Proven track record in sales business development and account management.
Experience managing OEM relationships and distribution networks is highly desirable.
Strong financial operational and commercial management skills.
Excellent leadership communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver business growth in a dynamic market environment.
