An established automotive multifranchise dealership group is looking for an experienced Financial Manager to oversee the financial control and reporting functions of dealerships. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute finance professional with strong automotive dealership experience and a hands-on approach to financial management, compliance, reporting, and operational control.

Role of the Dealership Financial Manager
The Financial Manager will take responsibility for the dealership's day-to-day financial control, management reporting, cash flow, reconciliations, statutory compliance, budgeting, asset control, and audit requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the Dealer Principal, departmental managers, and Group Finance to ensure sound financial governance and profitability.

Remuneration:
R 50 000 + Negotiable depending on experience CTC per month + KPI based incentives

Duties include

• Manage and control the dealership's financial accounting and reporting functions.
• Ensure compliance with OEM and dealership policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs.
• Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations and allocations are completed accurately and timeously.
• Manage daily cash flow, cash movements, and banking requirements to optimise available funds.
• Oversee the collection of outstanding accounts and ensure effective debtor management.
• Manage dealership financial information and ensure the integrity and accuracy of data on the DMS.
• Oversee user access, system controls, passwords, and financial reporting systems.
• Prepare and monitor departmental budgets in conjunction with line managers and the Dealer Principal.
• Monitor dealership performance against budget and provide financial insight to management.
• Manage vehicle floorplan, stock funding, and timely settlement of vehicles.
• Monitor OEM accounts, outstanding balances, incentives, and clawbacks.
• Prepare and verify monthly departmental commission schedules.
• Ensure all variable incentives and clawbacks are correctly calculated and authorised.
• Maintain effective fixed asset controls and ensure accurate recording and depreciation.
• Oversee vehicle stock checks and assist with bi-annual stock take processes.
• Ensure VAT and other statutory returns are accurately completed and submitted within prescribed deadlines.
• Manage applicable FIC reporting requirements and maintain goAML records.
• Prepare financial information and documentation for external auditors and coordinate audit requirements.
• Process year-end journals and ensure financial records reconcile with the final audited financial statements.
• Complete required financial and operational submissions, including Stats SA reporting.
• Manage the financial components of the dealership's BBBEE requirements, including procurement, CSI, ED, SED, and skills development.
• Train, support, and motivate finance and administration staff.
• Ensure staff receive appropriate training and adhere to financial policies and procedures.
• Work closely with HR to ensure salary adjustments and related financial information are submitted within required deadlines.
• Ensure all financial deadlines, month-end procedures, and reporting requirements are consistently met.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Relevant Financial Management, Accounting, or Finance qualification.
• Min of 5 years motor dealership experience – essential.
• Proven experience as a Financial Manager within a franchised motor dealership environment – Multi franchised experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of dealership accounting and financial controls.
• Proven experience managing, leading and developing a finance team – Min of 5 staff.
• Experience with management accounts, reconciliations, cash flow, budgets, floorplan, stock control, and OEM accounts.
• Strong understanding of dealership DMS systems and financial reporting systems – Evolve | Automate | Kerridge | Drive
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of VAT, FIC requirements, statutory reporting, and financial compliance.
• Experience preparing for and working with external auditors.
• Understanding of dealership commission structures, incentives, and clawbacks.
• Strong commercial and analytical ability.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict month-end and year-end deadlines.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Automotive dealership experience is essential.
• Reside close to East Rand areas
