Financial Controller

• Oversee daily financial accounting, reporting, and month-end/year-end processes.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, legislation, and company policies.
• Maintain strong financial controls, accounting procedures, and accurate financial records.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Analyse financial performance, investigate variances, and provide actionable insights to management.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure statutory requirements are met.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and high performance.
• Support senior management with financial planning and strategic decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, cost efficiencies, and reporting.

Essential:

• Education: Relevant Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of progressive finance experience, with atleast 1-2 years in a supervisory role within a star hotel or luxury hospitatlity environment.

• Systems: Advanced proficiency in hotel financial management systems (e.g. Sage 300/Accpac, Protel, Opera PMS, Micros POS, Materials Control) and online banking platforms.

• Excel Skills: Advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis and reconciliations.

• Knowledge: Good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), South African VAT legislation, and hotel operational processes.
