Business Development Manager

What you'll be doing

• Drive new business development and grow revenue across targeted market segments.
• Identify, develop and convert new sales opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, contractors, mining and construction businesses and SOEs.
• Develop and grow a strong client and partner network.
• Understand customer requirements and translate them into commercially viable solutions.
• Manage available equipment and identify the most appropriate sales channels.
• Drive sales of heavy mobile equipment / Yellow Metal assets, including equipment used in construction, mining and earthmoving applications.
• Develop new market opportunities and expand the existing customer base.
• Support marketing initiatives and leverage digital platforms to generate additional sales.
• Coordinate the sales process through to delivery.
• Provide regular sales reporting and keep management informed of pipeline, targets and opportunities.
• Deliver a first-class customer experience while maintaining strong commercial and profitability focus.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven sales / business development experience within Yellow Metal, heavy equipment, earthmoving equipment, construction equipment or a closely related industry.
• A demonstrable track record of winning new business and growing existing accounts.
• Experience selling into companies and/or state-owned enterprises (SOEs).
• Strong networking and relationship-building ability.
• The commercial ability to understand customer needs and translate them into business solutions.
• Strong negotiation, communication and closing skills.
• Good financial and numerical acumen.
• Excellent administration, reporting and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple opportunities and sales activities simultaneously.
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
• A valid driver's licence and own vehicle.

Yellow Metal | Earthmoving Equipment | Heavy Mobile Equipment | Construction Equipment | Mining Equipment | Plant & Machinery | Material Handling Equipment | Heavy Machinery | Mobile Assets

If you've sold excavators, loaders, graders, bulldozers, dump trucks, ADTs or other heavy-duty mobile equipment, your experience will be highly relevant.
