IT Technician (Legal Sector)
Based in Cape Town

An Established Law Firm is currently recruiting for an IT Technician to join an established professional services environment, supporting users across Cape Town and Stellenbosch.

This is a hands-on technical support role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, working with users, and taking ownership of IT issues from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and peripherals
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 issues
• Provide professional support to senior stakeholders, including directors and lawyers
• Manage the full endpoint lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding
• Administer Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
• Support Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
• Provide iManage/FileSite user support
• Assist with Intune and endpoint management
• Troubleshoot VPN, Wi-Fi and LAN/WAN connectivity
• Perform workstation builds, rebuilds and lifecycle replacements
• Maintain endpoint security, patching and access controls
• Assist with user access reviews, cybersecurity awareness and offboarding
• Maintain accurate ticket notes, documentation and asset records
• Liaise with vendors regarding repairs, warranties and escalations
• Participate in after-hours/weekend standby when required
• Support IT operations across the Western Cape

Requirements

• Grade 12
• 2–4+ years' experience in a corporate IT support environment
• Professional services or legal-sector IT experience advantageous
• Strong Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 experience
• Experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V and VMware
• Solid understanding of AD, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and SMTP
• Experience with Teams, SharePoint, Exchange and Exchange Online
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi and VPN technologies
• Knowledge of endpoint security and patch management
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Relevant IT certifications such as Microsoft or CompTIA advantageous
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport essential
• Willingness to travel between offices
