About the Role
An established financial services provider is seeking a high-energy, growth-minded New Business Short-Term Insurance Broker to drive market expansion. This is a pure "hunter" position designed for a strategic sales professional who excels at client acquisition. Operating as a trusted risk advisor, you will identify prospective commercial and personal lines clients, evaluate risk exposures, negotiate premier terms with underwriters, and onboard new accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Development: Source and secure new commercial and personal lines business via cold outreach, networking, and direct referrals.
Risk Advisory: Execute comprehensive Financial Needs Analyses (FNA) and perform on-site commercial risk evaluations.
Proposal Delivery: Analyze competitor coverage to identify vulnerabilities, formulate underwriting submissions, and pitch tailored risk solutions to decision-makers.
Market Negotiation: Leverage insurer relationships to secure competitive rates, optimal terms, and strong coverage structures.
Compliance & Onboarding: Maintain complete compliance with FAIS, FICA, POPIA, and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) standards, including precise Records of Advice (RoA).
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Matric (Grade 12) required; a B.Com or relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous.
Regulatory Compliance: Full FAIS Fit & Proper status with a minimum of 150 Short-Term Insurance credits (Commercial and Personal Lines).
Certifications: Passed RE5 examination, clear of all supervision requirements, and fully up to date with CPD hours.
Experience: 3 to 5 years of verifiable, successful sales experience in a short-term insurance broking or corporate insurance environment.
Mobility: Valid South African driver's license and a reliable personal vehicle are essential for frequent client site visits.
