Role Overview Seeking a high-energy, growth-oriented New Business Short-Term Insurance Broker to expand market footprint. This is a pure "hunter" role designed for a strategic sales professional who thrives on client acquisition.
In this role, you will act as a trusted risk advisor. You will be responsible for identifying high-value commercial and personal prospects, evaluating their unique risk exposures, negotiating premier terms with leading underwriters, and onboarding them into the company family.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Development & Market Expansion:
Proactively source and secure new business opportunities via strategic networking, cold outreach, and referrals.
Maintain a highly active sales pipeline to consistently hit and exceed monthly revenue and premium targets.
Represent the Group brand at industry events, business forums, and networking associations.
Risk Advisory:
Execute thorough risk assessments and comprehensive Financial Needs Analyses (FNA) for prospective commercial and personal lines clients.
Conduct on-site inspections for commercial prospects to accurately evaluate operational vulnerabilities and asset exposure.
Analyse existing competitor policies to identify coverage deficiencies, under-insurance risks, or cost-saving opportunities.
Underwriting Negotiation & Deal Closure:
Formulate detailed underwriting submissions and pitch risk profiles to top-tier insurance markets.
Leverage industry relationships to negotiate competitive rates, optimal terms, and robust coverage structures.
Craft and deliver compelling, professional risk proposals to key decision-makers and C-suite executives.
Regulatory Compliance & Seamless Integration:
Maintain absolute compliance with the FAIS Act, FICA, POPIA, and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.
Meticulously complete all statutory documentation, including a robust Record of Advice (RoA).
Oversee the successful onboarding of new accounts.
Profile Requirements & Qualifications
Academic Background: Matric (Grade 12) is required. A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., B.Com) will give you a distinct advantage.
Regulatory Compliance: Full FAIS fit and proper status with a minimum of 150 credits in Short-Term Insurance (Commercial and Personal Lines).
Successfully completed Regulatory Examination 5 (RE5).
Must be clear of any supervision requirements.
Fully up to date with annual Continuous Professional Development (CPD) hours.
Proven Track Record: 3 to 5 years of successful, verifiable sales experience specifically within a short-term insurance broking or corporate insurance environment.
Mobility: A valid South African driver''''s license and a reliable personal vehicle are non-negotiable due to frequent client site visits.
