SUMMARY:
Workshop Manager - Jet Park
POSITION INFO:
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Workshop Manager to oversee the safe, efficient and productive day-to-day operation of a steel fabrication and manufacturing workshop servicing the mining and mobile underground mining equipment industry.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 5 years’ experience managing a steel fabrication workshop.
- Proven experience in manufacturing processes for mining mobile equipment, including:WeldingBoilermakingCNC MachiningFittingAssembly
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics and components/supplies used in mobile underground mining equipment.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Strong technical problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven leadership and people-management skills.
- Strong character with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Responsible, accountable and able to work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the safe and efficient day-to-day running of the production workshop.
- Ensure all quality assurance and quality control processes, procedures and work structures are consistently followed.
- Coordinate production activities and oversee department heads to ensure jobs are completed according to customer delivery deadlines.
- Enforce workshop workflow structures, processes and procedures across all departments.
- Ensure plant and equipment are properly maintained and available for production.
- Participate in technical problem-solving, investigations and research & development activities.
- Ensure all workshop health and safety procedures and protocols are strictly adhered to.
- Maintain high-quality workmanship through effective incoming and outgoing inspections of parts and assemblies.
- Lead and motivate workshop teams to achieve production, quality and delivery targets.
