About Our Client An organisation operating in the distributor sector located in Edenvale Johannesburg. Job Description The Senior legal advisor will be managing a wide range of complex legal matters for the group across local and international jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial legal background, a sharp business acumen, and a pragmatic approach to managing legal risk in a fast-paced multinational environment. The role will entail the following: - Provide legal advice and support across the organisation's functions. - Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements. - Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations within the retail industry. - Manage legal risks and provide solutions to mitigate them. - Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary. - Assist with dispute resolution and litigation management. - Keep up-to-date with legal developments affecting the retail sector. - Support the organisation in achieving its strategic goals through sound legal guidance The Successful Applicant A successful Senior Legal Advisor should have: - A law degree or equivalent qualification. - Proven expertise in handling legal matters in a corporate environment. - Strong experience in contract drafting from scratch, review, and negotiation. - Knowledge of compliance requirements within the Commercial law - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. - Experience in managing legal risk, litigation, and compliance with local and global legislation. - Minimum of 5 year's post-admission legal experience, ideally within a large law firm, corporate or multinational environment What's on Offer Competitive and market-related salary increment If you are ready to bring your legal expertise to the retail industry, we encourage you to apply.
