Job description
Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to perform electrical repairs, installations, maintenance and fault-finding across its feedlot operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance in accordance with applicable legislation and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified Electrician with a recognised Trade Certificate.
- Minimum of 35 years relevant experience as an Electrical Artisan.
- Willing and available to perform standby duties and work overtime when required.
- Physically fit and able to work in awkward positions, confined or cluttered workspaces and environments with elevated noise levels.
- Experience working on centre-pivot irrigation systems will be advantageous.
- A valid Wiremans Licence will be advantageous.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities.
- Sound understanding of electrical legislation, standards and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily electrical repairs, installations and maintenance.
- Conduct planned preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
- Install and maintain circuit boards and electronic equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on electrical equipment.
- Investigate and diagnose electrical system and equipment faults.
- Troubleshoot faults and complete the required repairs.
- Install wiring and electrical systems according to specifications and applicable standards.
- Test new electrical installations to ensure safe and effective operation.
- Identify short circuits, system breaks and other electrical faults.
- Inspect and audit electrical supplies, machinery and systems.
- Identify and address electrical risks, compatibility concerns and unsafe components.
- Install conduits and run electrical wiring to switches, circuit-breaker panels and relays.
- Prepare the necessary tools and personal protective equipment for scheduled work.
- Manage scheduled jobs and complete work within the required timeframes.
- Provide management with regular feedback regarding repairs, installations, progress and operational challenges.
- Supervise electrical work when required.
