Risk Officer

Risk Officer position available in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

Our client, a reputable insurance company based in Rosebank, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Risk Officer / Risk Specialist to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the organisation’s risk management framework, identifying potential risks, and ensuring effective controls are in place to protect the business and its operations.

Salary: R30 000 to R40 000 per month.

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, or a related field.


• Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in a risk, compliance, insurance, or related operational role.


• Strong understanding of risk principles, internal controls, and governance.


• Experience within the insurance industry will be highly advantageous.


• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.


• High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of risk management policies and procedures.


• Identify, assess, and monitor operational, compliance, and business risks.


• Support risk reporting, analysis, and documentation for management.


• Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.


• Assist with internal audits, control reviews, and follow-up on risk actions.


• Maintain accurate records of risk incidents, issues, and corrective actions.


• Monitor regulatory and business changes that may impact risk exposure.


• Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure risk awareness and compliance.


• Support the preparation of reports for management and governance meetings.


• Contribute to continuous improvement of risk processes and controls.
