An established specialist in fire detection and suppression solutions is seeking a highly driven External Sales Consultant to generate new business within the commercial and corporate market. This is a true hunter sales role. The successful candidate must be confident approaching new businesses prospecting cold calling knocking on doors and creating opportunities from scratch. This is not an order-taking position. We are looking for someone who enjoys being out in the market meeting prospective clients opening new doors and converting opportunities into revenue.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and develop new B2B business opportunities.
• Conduct proactive door-to-door business canvassing.
• Cold call and prospect for potential clients.
• Generate own leads and develop a strong sales pipeline.
• Identify and approach commercial and corporate businesses.
• Arrange and attend face-to-face client meetings.
• Promote and sell fire detection and suppression solutions.
• Understand client requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Prepare and follow up on quotations and proposals.
• Convert prospects into paying customers.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Consistently achieve agreed sales and new-business targets.
• Maintain accurate records of prospects opportunities and sales activities.
• Plan and manage sales territories appointments and daily activities effectively.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Minimum 3 years external sales experience preferably within a technical or industrial environment.
• Proven new business development and hunter-sales track record.
• Must be comfortable with door-to-door prospecting and cold calling.
• Strong ability to approach prospective businesses and initiate sales conversations.
• Experience within a B2B sales environment.
• Strong prospecting lead-generation and closing skills.
• Own reliable vehicle.
• Valid drivers licence.
• Computer literate.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Afrikaans.
• Good understanding of external sales marketing and customer relationship management.
• Strong planning organisation and time-management skills.
• Able to work independently and manage own sales activities.
• Target driven resilient and motivated by performance and commission.

Advantageous

• Diploma or degree in Business Sales Marketing or a related field.
• N3 Electronics or similar technical qualification.
• Previous technical sales experience.
• Experience within the fire protection fire detection fire suppression security electronics electrical or industrial sectors.

Training
Full on-the-job product and service training will be provided.
Package
Basic Salary: R13 000 per month
