Senior Electrical Engineer

Assignment Roles:

• Tariff setting across the different categories of municipalities, including robust engagement in the NERSA approval process.
• Management and monitoring of the MFMA section 41 and 42 requirements.
  • Interrogate and review bulk and related supply invoices, agreements, including wheeling related as well as the municipal billing ofconsumers.
  • Represent and strengthen the National Treasury's participation and policy across various platforms.
  • Establishing an appropriate network and channels to lobby the National Treasury's related programmes.
    • Advising on metering strategies for large power users and prepaid customers, improving billing accuracy.
    • Support the development of standardised tools, specifications and processes for smart meter deployment.
    • Provide high-level advisory and capacity support to municipalities and National Treasury through stakeholder engagement, policy input, and technical oversight of programme implementation.
• Proven experience should be obtained in a metro with a thorough understanding of the MFMA should be demonstrated.

Qualifications

• BTech in Electrical Engineering or Dip in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Registered Engineer with ECSA (must be valid)
• 10 years of experience as a senior manager in revenue enhancement strategies around the annual electricity and energy tariffs setting, evidence provided stating the period start and end and indicating for which metro.
  • Must have acted as a Divisional head of technical services in a metro for at least 10 years.
  • Proven experience in policy setting and managing large intergovernmental platforms and engagement.
• Experience in financial modelling, tariff setting & adjustment analysis, and regulatory policy competency.
