Position Summary

Tangent International is seeking an experienced PMO Manager to support a major telecommunications program in South Africa. As a PMO Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating project governance, performance monitoring, reporting, and operational support activities across a large-scale telecommunications program. You will work closely with executive leadership, project managers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to ensure effective project execution, compliance with governance frameworks, and achievement of strategic objectives. The role requires strong experience in telecommunications project delivery, program management methodologies, and PMO best practices. You will be instrumental in improving project visibility, managing risks, tracking deliverables, and ensuring alignment between business goals and project outcomes. Key Responsibilities

• Support executive project leadership in delivering strategic telecommunications programs.
• Establish and maintain PMO governance frameworks, methodologies, and reporting standards.
• Monitor project performance, schedules, budgets, risks, and resource utilization.
• Coordinate project planning, milestone tracking, and performance measurement activities.
• Ensure compliance with project management processes, policies, and governance requirements.
• Manage project documentation, status reporting, and executive dashboards.
• Track program risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
• Facilitate stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Support portfolio management activities and project prioritization processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across PMO functions and delivery teams.
• Monitor project operational performance and key strategic deliverables.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve program efficiency and execution.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a PMO Manager, Program Manager, or Senior Project Management Professional.
• Mandatory experience within the telecommunications industry.
• Strong understanding of project governance, PMO frameworks, and portfolio management.
• Experience managing large-scale telecom transformation, network rollout, infrastructure, or technology programs.
• Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management practices.
• Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Jira, or similar platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive reporting skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within complex environments.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification.
• Experience with telecom infrastructure, network rollout, or TowerCo programs.
• Knowledge of Agile, Hybrid, or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
