Lodge Manager

SUMMARY:
An exclusive safari lodge on the banks of a river in the Greater Kruger region is seeking an experienced and hands-on LODGE MANAGER to oversee its operations.

POSITION INFO:
This is a role for someone who thrives on independence and can run a small operation to a five-star standard, from guest hosting through to staff and budget management. You'll lead a small team of two, so this suits someone equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves as they are managing admin and reporting.

Core Criteria:

• Matric, plus a Hospitality Diploma or similar qualification
• Proven experience managing a lodge or similar hospitality operation independently
• Strong administrative and reporting skills, non-negotiable
• Excellent people management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a small team
• Unquestionable honesty and integrity, essential for this role
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office, reservation systems, email and reporting platforms)
• Financial or accounting background advantageous, with the ability to manage budgets
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Professional, presentable, and a natural host

Core Responsibilities:

• Oversee all day-to-day lodge operations, guest services, and reservations
• Host guests and ensure a consistently exceptional, personalised experience
• Manage bookings, check-ins, invoicing, and payment reconciliation
• Coordinate game drives and liaise with guiding teams on safari logistics
• Supervise housekeeping, kitchen, grounds, and general upkeep of the property
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas, before arrivals and after departures
• Manage preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and contractor appointments
• Lead and manage a small on-site team, including scheduling and performance
• Control stock, monitor budgets, and manage supplier invoices and approvals
• Compile and submit regular reports to the owners on occupancy, performance, and operations
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and grading requirements

On Offer:

• Package of R35,000 package per month inclusive of medical aid, provident fund, onsite accommodation and allowances.
