Financial Accountant Luxury Lodge Group Head Office Cape Town

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Accountant to join the head office team of a leading luxury lodge group in Cape Town.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional with strong accounting experience and previous exposure to supervising or mentoring a finance team. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records supporting financial reporting and ensuring the smooth running of the groups finance function.

Salary: R35000 R40000 per month

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting and financial functions.
  
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting schedules.
  
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures.
  
• Prepare financial reports and management accounts as required.
  
• Perform bank balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
  
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  
• Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
  
• Assist with budgeting forecasting and financial analysis.
  
• Monitor financial performance and investigate variances.
  
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial information.
  
• Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation when required.
  
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  
• Mentor and support junior members of the finance team.
  
• Provide guidance and supervision to finance staff where required.
  
• Work closely with management and operational teams to provide accurate financial information and support decision-making.
  

Requirements

• Relevant Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  
• 35 years relevant financial accounting experience.
  
• Previous experience mentoring and/or supervising a finance team is essential.
  
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
  
• Excellent reconciliation and financial reporting skills.
  
• Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
  
• Experience with Xero will be advantageous.
  
• Previous experience within the hospitality industry is beneficial but not essential.
  
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
