This isnt a CFO role built around reporting the numbers after the fact its one built around shaping them before they happen.

Were partnering with an established construction & engineering business looking to appoint a CFO to bring greater financial discipline and commercial rigour to its next phase of growth. This isnt a generalist CFO opportunity. Deep hands-on cost and project accounting experience is essential.

Working closely with the CEO operations and commercial teams youll ensure project performance is visible early commercial risks are identified proactively and financial insight drives better business decisions.

Duties & Responsibilities

What youll bring:

• CA(SA) or CIMA.
• Proven executive finance leadership experience.
• Deep hands-on cost and project accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of contract accounting WIP cost-to-complete methodologies and contract revenue recognition.
• A track record of partnering with operations and commercial teams to improve project profitability.
• Strong budgeting forecasting cash flow and commercial reporting capability.
• Experience within construction is preferred; engineering mining and other project-driven industries will also be considered.
• Experience strengthening financial discipline within a growing established business.
• Based in Johannesburg with occasional travel to support the Cape Town finance team.
