Senior Electrical Technician

A leading marine manufacturer is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Technician to join its engineering team. This role is responsible for the installation testing commissioning and fault-finding of marine electrical systems while providing technical support to production and driving quality and continuous improvement across vessel builds.

Job Description

• Provide technical support during the installation testing and commissioning of marine electrical systems
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and electronic faults on vessels
• Configure test and commission electrical and electronic equipment
• Support production teams with technical troubleshooting and process improvements
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and assist with engineering changes
• Conduct electrical testing and quality inspections
• Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
• Mentor junior technicians and promote strong engineering and quality standards

Skills & Experience

• 5 years experience in a marine manufacturing or marine engineering environment
• Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems installation and commissioning
• Proven electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Experience with electrical testing commissioning and quality control
• Exposure to PLCs marine electronics and digital control systems will be advantageous
• Strong communication problem-solving and leadership skills
• Hands-on approach with the ability to work closely with production teams

Qualifications

• Red Seal Electrician or Mechatronics qualification
• Valid drivers licence and own reliable transport
