Position Summary

NTT DATA South Africa is seeking a skilled IT Support Technician to provide technical assistance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, support end-users, and maintain IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring business continuity through efficient technical support and proactive system maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line and second-line technical support to users.


• Diagnose and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, and network issues.


• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and business applications.


• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.


• Support Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint environments.


• Assist with hardware deployment and asset management.


• Troubleshoot connectivity and network performance issues.


• Escalate complex technical incidents when necessary.


• Maintain accurate IT service desk records and documentation.


• Perform software updates, patches, and system maintenance.


• Support cybersecurity initiatives and endpoint protection solutions.


• Participate in disaster recovery and backup procedures.

Educational Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Relevant technical certifications will be advantageous:

• CompTIA A+


• CompTIA Network+


• Microsoft Certifications


• ITIL Foundation


• Cisco Certifications

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2-4 years of IT support experience.


• Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 environments.


• Familiarity with Active Directory and network troubleshooting.


• Experience working within service desk environments.
