Production Manager

Minimum requirements:

• Relevant Diploma/Degree in Production Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing or a related field.
• Minimum 3 yearsâ experience in a Production Supervisor role.
• FMCG / Beverage manufacturing experience essential.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production equipment.
• Knowledge of production planning, scheduling and resource allocation.
• Understanding of quality, food safety, health and environmental requirements.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Strong understanding of production KPIs and performance reporting.
• Experience managing production teams and coordinating staff activities.
• Ability to work with procurement, logistics, Quality Assurance, and other departments.
• Experience monitoring equipment performance and coordinating maintenance requirements.
• Computer literacy and strong reporting skills.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Oversee daily manufacturing operations and ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved.
• Manage production teams, allocate responsibilities and monitor staff performance.
• Develop and monitor production schedules and allocate resources according to production requirements.
• Ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to required quality standards.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and waste-reduction initiatives.
• Identify production issues, investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health, environmental and operational requirements.
• Monitor quality control processes and support internal and external audits.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, Quality Assurance and R&D to ensure smooth production flow.
• Monitor inventory, material availability and production requirements.
• Monitor machinery and equipment performance and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Minimise production downtime and improve operational reliability.
• Track production KPIs and prepare regular production reports for management.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage production schedules and adjust plans according to changing demand or supply requirements.
• Ensure production procedures and safety protocols are consistently followed.
• Support training, development and performance management of production employees.
