About the role

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.
- Review and reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare and process payroll while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Support audit processes by preparing schedules and providing supporting documentation.
- Respond to vendor enquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Perform general administrative duties, including filing, data capturing, and maintaining financial databases.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- Perform bookkeeping functions up to trial balance.
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.
- Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of individual and company income tax returns.
- Support the Accounting Manager with tax computations and provisional tax calculations.
- Assist with SARS queries, audits, and compliance matters.
- Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for client files.
- Liaise professionally with clients regarding accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and taxation matters.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards and South African tax legislation
Minimum Requirements
- South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
- Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
- Matric.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Basic knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar accounting packages.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Good data capturing and record-keeping skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional attitude with integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
