Job Purpose
The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers while delivering exceptional customer service. The role involves maintaining a clean and organized bar area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, handling customer payments, and creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
Beverage Preparation & Service
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and standards.
Recommend drinks and menu items based on customer preferences.
Mix cocktails, pour beers, and serve wines efficiently and accurately.
Ensure all beverages are presented professionally.
Verify customer age and comply with liquor licensing laws and regulations.
Customer Service
Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Build positive relationships with guests and provide an enjoyable experience.
Address customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly.
Maintain high standards of hospitality at all times.
Bar Operations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, equipment, and workstations.
Restock bar inventory including spirits, wines, beers, mixers, garnishes, and supplies.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages to management.
Assist with stock counts and inventory control procedures.
Cash Handling & Administration
Process customer orders accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
Handle cash, card transactions, and receipts responsibly.
Reconcile sales and cash drawers at the end of shifts.
Follow company procedures for financial controls and record keeping.
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to health, safety, hygiene, and alcohol service regulations.
Ensure responsible service of alcohol and refuse service when required.
Report accidents, incidents, or safety concerns immediately.
Maintain a safe and secure working environment.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
Previous experience as a Bartender, Waiter, or in a hospitality environment.
Knowledge of cocktails, wines, beers, and beverage service.
Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
