Job description

Our client is an established leader within the commercial and industrial refrigeration sector in South Africa, providing specialized cooling equipment, technical solutions, and maintenance services to a wide range of industries.

The Management Accountant will take executive responsibility for the company's financial operations, inventory control, and administrative reporting. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role provides strategic oversight across financial management, budgeting, risk governance, and departmental leadership to drive business efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic financial modelling.
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure precise financial reporting.
  • Manage cash flow, treasury, capital structure, and banking relationships.
  • Provide direct leadership and strategic management to the Finance, HR, and Inventory Management teams.
  • Design and implement scalable operational processes, internal controls, and cost-optimisation strategies.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks while managing external audit relations.
  • Present financial insights, operational performance reports, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory, tax, and statutory requirements.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (BCom Accounting, BAcc, or equivalent preferred).
  • CIMA designation or active affiliation with SAICA/SAIPA is strongly advantageous.
  • Proven management accounting experience within the commercial refrigeration, manufacturing, stock-heavy, warehousing, or technical services sector.
  • Demonstrated background in stock and inventory control, cost accounting, and financial modelling.
  • Strong track record in direct team management and leadership across administrative functions.

Salary
