Senior Mechanical Designer (Sheet Metal & Fabrication)

Key Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant design experience.
• Portfolio demonstrating previous project work.
• Advanced SolidWorks proficiency (essential).
• Strong sheet metal design experience.
• Mechanical and/or structural design experience advantageous.
• Experience designing fabricated steel structures and sheet metal assemblies for manufacture.
• Knowledge of fabrication processes including laser cutting, bending, welding and assembly.
• Ability to perform site measurements and support commissioning activities.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering project teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a big-picture perspective.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop concept, preliminary and detailed mechanical designs for industrial equipment and fabricated assemblies.
• Produce manufacturing-ready fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Design sheet metal components, enclosures, support structures, skids and mechanical assemblies.
• Liaise with engineers, project managers, workshop personnel and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct site measurements and provide technical support during fabrication, installation and commissioning.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and project requirements.
• Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawing registers and design documentation.
• Support multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
